Admission Requirements

NewLife does not accept individuals for the Medical Transcription program unless there is a reasonable chance they will succeed in the program. In order to assess whether a candidate is likely to succeed, he/she must meet the following admission criteria.

• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Must successfully complete a typing test with a speed of at least 35 words per minute. Pennsylvania students must also complete a reading comprehension test indicating a least a 10th grade reading level.
• Must successfully complete interviews by a team of NewLife representatives.
• Must agree to drug testing and remain drug free.
