Program Length

The Medical Transcription program is 900 clock hours in duration and prepares students for a career as a Medical Transcriptionist. Of the 900 clock hours, 182 of those hours are traditional instructor led classes conducted at our facility and 718 hours are self-paced distance education courses. Although the 718 hours are distance education courses, the students will complete those courses at our facility with an advisor available to the students at all times.

In addition to class hours, homework and teamwork exercises will require time of the students outside of class. Within a class, all students take courses in the same sequence, beginning and ending together. Courses from this program cannot be taken as stand-alone courses.
